About

DevOps / Cloud Infrastructure Engineer with 10+ years in IT — networking, systems admin, and hands-on AWS. Currently supporting multi-account AWS platforms for airline crew-management products (Admin Tools, Production, Sandbox), with day-to-day ownership of EC2 fleets, hybrid VPN/Transit Gateway connectivity, IAM Identity Center (Azure AD SSO), SSM Maintenance Windows, backups, DR drills, and production on-call. I run Site-to-Site VPN work end to end — tunnel troubleshooting, BGP cutovers from old static tunnels, client setup calls, and clear follow-ups until both sides confirm traffic. I lead scheduled DR tests for fetch apps and MongoDB replica sets across products, complete them inside Maintenance Windows, document recovery times, and fix what fails on retest. This year I moved Mongo and fetch workloads to Amazon Linux 2023 (Packer AMIs); Mongo saw roughly 6–9% better performance and cleaner recovery vs Ubuntu, and fetch deploys got faster and more stable. I also centralized DB backups every 6 hours via Maintenance Windows, shifted Windows MSSQL Express to Linux MSSQL to cut cost and simplify upkeep, rolled out SentinelOne through MW automation, and auto-create CloudWatch alarms when new instances come up — with DB upgrades done without downtime while apps stayed live. Alongside cloud ops I administer Microsoft 365, guide SysAdmin on day-to-day issues, pick up developer tickets (deploy, IAM, pipeline, access), and keep Confluence/Jira docs usable. Comfortable under pressure and with a leaner team; quick to pick up new stack items (AL2023, Packer, GHA, Linux MSSQL, BGP VPN) and currently working toward Docker/ECS. Certifications: Cyber Crime Intervention Officer; CPEW (ISAC).
