I'm Karthik, I also go by plimm (short story for another time). Every now and then an idea pops into my head and refuses to leave, so I build it, usually with some mix of computer vision and/or ML. My favourite so far is a system that images craters on the Moon where sunlight has never reached, which is about as close to space as my code has gotten (for now). Along the way, I've also built something that watches Bitcoin transactions for anything shady, and a browser extension that tracks how much I talk to AI and passes the conversation on when one model runs out of patience (tokens lol). Math and physics are where I get a little poetic. Physics tells us how the universe behaves, and math is somehow the language it chose to say it in. Watching the two click together still feels like magic to me, and I love the challenge of slowly learning to read the sheet music of this beautiful symphony. I'm also hopelessly obsessed with anything that goes absurdly fast. F1 cars pulling 5g through a corner, rockets climbing out of the atmosphere on a column of fire. Humans built those, and someday I'd love to be one of the people working on machines like that. When I slow down, it's usually for a game of chess, or a perfectly innocent thought like "why is there something rather than nothing?" that hijacks my evening and turns into a three-hour detour with no destination. I love questions like that, the kind with no right answer, just a bunch of good arguments politely disagreeing with each other. If any of this sounds like your kind of thing, or you're hiring summer 2027 interns, come say hi :)
